Pet Microchipping Clinic

  • Markquart Motors 531 Oak Avenue Menomonie, WI, 54751 United States (map)

Hosted by Dunn County Humane Society & Markquart Motors of Menomonie

DCHS is proactively addressing pet safety by hosting a one-day, low-cost Pet Microchipping Event. This initiative aims to increase the chances of reuniting lost and missing pets with their owners quickly. While microchips typically range from $35 to $50 at shelters and vet clinics across the country, DCHS is offering them at the reduced rate of only $10 per pet for this special one-day event.

Microchips are a simple, effective way for animal shelters and veterinary clinics to identify where your pet belongs. Each microchip is as small as a grain of rice, so your pet won’t know it’s there, but we’ll always know where home is.

Please remember to bring your dog on a leash and your cat in a carrier.

Want to save time? Pre-register & pre-pay for your microchips before the event using the button below.

  • As part of our nonprofit community outreach, we at DCHS believe in providing accessible solutions for pet safety. In the United States, 1 in 3 family pets will go missing in their lifetime, but microchips drastically increase the likelihood that your pet gets reunited with you.

Every year, hundreds of lost pets are brought to our shelter without any form of identification. We do our best to get the word out and try to reunite these pets with their owners, but the task proves impossible when we have no information to start from.

According to formal research, dogs with accurate microchip information are 2.4 times more likely to get reunited with their owner; cats with accurate microchip information are 21.4 times more likely.

  • Microchipping is a quick and relatively painless procedure, similar to getting a routine vaccination. Most pets experience minimal discomfort, and the process is over in a matter of seconds.

Once implanted, the microchip does not cause any ongoing pain or discomfort, allowing your pet to continue with their daily activities uninterrupted.

  • Once implanted, our team will register your pet through an online portal. We will need to include your full name, phone number, physical address, and email address in order to complete the registration.

Registration itself is completely free, but if you move or change phone numbers you may have to pay a small fee to the microchip company to keep your information up-to-date.
