We are happy to have our volunteers back in the shelter (and so are the dogs and cats!), and new volunteers starting again! A couple of things to keep in mind are:
– To control traffic at the shelter you will need to sign up for shifts prior to coming in to volunteer. All volunteers will receive an email with a link to set up a password for the Volunteer Center upon completion of the Volunteer Orientation Class. Once your password is set, you will be able to find available shifts on the “my schedule” tab of the Center (click image to go to the Volunteer Center).
– Masks are currently required for everyone in the building (9/8/21). If you do not have one when you arrive there is a box with disposable masks at the volunteer computer.
-We are also participating in the President’s Volunteer Service Award, and the first awards for DCHS volunteers will be given in early 2022 for hours logged in 2021. Click here for details!
