I just wanted to write a very belated update on how Rory (who is now named Mittens) is doing! He took a couple weeks to come out of his shell, and he’s still a little on the skittish side, but he is a completely different cat from the one we met two months ago, hiding behind the scratching post and hissing at anyone who touched him.
Mittens loves belly rubs and regularly flops over for them. He won’t come to us for snuggles, but if we pick him up, he purrs and starts trying to roll around in our arms. He follows his new cat brothers everywhere (one is fine with this, the other has finally begun tolerating it without too much trouble). His affinity for food is hilarious; he will stick his nose in the air and sniff at the faintest scent of food, and we have to watch him to make sure he doesn’t eat his brothers’ leftovers. He managed to get an empty ice cream container out of the garbage can (we aren’t sure how he did this without knocking it over!) and stick his face in it. Needless to say, he’s very entertaining!
I’ve attached some pictures for you! Thanks for helping us bring this wonderful kitty into our lives!
